
San Francisco, Calif. – The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, will be hosting National Anthem tryouts on Saturday, August 18 from 1-3 pm at PIER 39 – Crystal Geyser ALPINE SPRING WATER Stage. The event will be open to the public. Contestants will vie for the chance to sing the National Anthem at an SF Bulls game during the team’s inaugural 2012-13 regular season. Determining the winners will be a panel of guest judges: KGO ABC7 News Anchor Dan Ashley, Comcast SportsNet’s San Jose Sharks Insider Kevin Kurz, KRON 4 News Anchor Vicki Liviakis and from BRAVO’s Miss Advised Emily Morse. Following the audition, the public is invited to Players Sports Grill and Arcade in PIER 39 for a “Meet ‘N’ Greet” with SF Bulls forwards Hans Benson and Peter Sivak, team coaches, including SF Bulls President & Head Coach Pat Curcio, and the mascot, Rawhide.
Contestants will perform 30 seconds of the National Anthem, and a verse and chorus of a song of their choice. Six of the hopefuls will be announced the winners by 4 pm of the same day, and earn the right to perform the National Anthem at an SF Bulls game.
After the competition, the “Meet ‘N’ Greet will take place at Players Sports Grill and Arcade from 3-4 pm. Fans will have the chance to enter and win a “VIP Bulls Experience.”
Ashley, an Emmy Award winner, has been with ABC7 since 1995. He works now as anchor of ABC7 News at 6 & 11 p.m. and ABC7 News at 9 p.m. on Your TV20, weekdays.

The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team will officially take the ice as an expansion team of the ECHL on October 12. The Bulls are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s San Jose Sharks.
