SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today defenseman Theo Peckham has signed with the Bulls. Peckham joins the Bulls after spending a majority of the past four seasons playing for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League. He skated with the team today in practice and is expected to play in a game some time this week.

“We’re very excited to have Theo on board,” said SF Bulls President/Head Coach Pat Curcio. “He is a proven NHL defenseman and will make our defensive core significantly stronger. We look forward to seeing Theo proudly don a Bulls jersey for a game soon.”

Peckham, 24, was a third round draft pick, 75th overall, by Edmonton in 2006. He has played in 156 NHL games, all with the Oilers, accumulating 17 points (3 goals, 14 assists) and 382 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 2-inch, 235-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario skated in a career-high 71 games with the Oilers in 2011-12.

Peckham also skated in 143 games with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, totaling 38 points (12 goals, 26 assists) and 387 penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro, Peckham played in 181 games with Owen Sound of the Ontario Hockey League, recording 60 points (17 goals, 43 assists) and 618 penalty minutes. In 2005-06, he set the Owen Sound single-season record with 236 penalty minutes.

The Bulls return home to the Cow Palace on Friday, November 9 for a Bulls Inaugural Season Hat Giveaway, courtesy of the San Francisco Chronicle, against the Stockton Thunder.
