The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team have announced the details of their 2nd Annual Fall Classic Tournament:

Location: Cow Palace, 2600 Geneva Ave, Daly City, CA 94014

Dates:  Thursday through Sunday, September 19-22, 2013

Application Deadline: August 15, 2013, subject to availability. First come first served

Divisions: Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Women’s

Players: All team members must be 18 or over and USA Hockey certified

Games & Rules:  Guaranteed 3 games, with the possibility of 4 games.  The 4th game will be the championship game, which will be played at the Cow Palace after an SF Bulls home game at a later date.
Regular games will run 3 periods of 17 minutes (running clock).
Championship games will have a 5-minute overtime (running clock) followed by a 3 man shootout, if necessary.
Normal USA Hockey rules with no contact allowed.

Awards: Championship trophy with winning teams’ names engraved. Trophy will be displayed at the Cow Palace during all SF Bulls’ home games.

(14) Hockey Tournament T-Shirts PER team
Water will be provided

Food and Drinks: No outside food or drinks allowed. Food and drinks (including alcohol) can be purchased at any open concession stands. ATM’s available on site.

Price: $1,600 PER team. 10% deposit to secure team’s tournament entry.
Must be paid in full by September 1, 2013.

First off, I just wanted to thank everyone for a great season, and an experience that I will never forget.  This summer will be a busy one to say the least and it already has begun.  A week after the season ended I had LASIK surgery done by Newman Lasik so that I am not a “four eyes” anymore.

I am also getting married this summer and am currently in Michigan preparing for the wedding. It will be exciting to see family and friends making the trip from back home in Regina, Saskatchewan.

I also have been doing dry-land training, but skating will have to wait.  Finding ice in Michigan is more difficult than in my hometown of Regina. Training on the ice is really the only way to keep sharp. During the month of August I will be returning back to Ferris State University where I went to school and played hockey for four years. I will be training there with current FSU players as well as alumni players, preparing for another hockey season.

It is always difficult when the season ends and the players that have become your family break apart and return home for their summer. I can’t wait to for next season to start.

With the Inaugural Season completed I am looking forward to preparing for season number two.

The first step is to continue to bring Rawhide, the Moo Crew and the Cow Belles to different community events throughout the Bay Area.  Among the events we’ve already attended, including Rawhide greeting and taking pictures with participants at the San Francisco March for Babies at the Great Meadows at Fort Mason put on by the March of Dimes. We were also at Crissy Field taking in all the events surrounding Opening Day on the Bay. It was great to see all those boats on the Bay. Rawhide, the Moo Crew and Cow Belles were also at Seton Medical Center’s Caring for our Community event.

The best part about being in the community is getting to see all our great fans and seeing our younger fans get smiles on their faces when they see Rawhide and want photos.

The off-season will also allow me and the other Bulls staff members to brainstorm and implement new ideas for our game presentation next season. This year we had a great start but look for season number two to be even better. As the Game Operations and Community Relations Manager, I will looking forward to seeing all our fans in the community or at the Cow Palace next season.

#8 – February 27, 2013 – Comeback In Colorado

At the end of February, the Bulls embarked on their second longest road trip of the season, taking them to Idaho, Utah, Colorado and Las Vegas. With the Bakersfield Condors on their heels in the standings, the Bulls desperately needed to pick up some hard-to-come-by road points. Following a split in Idaho and a one-goal regulation loss in Utah, the Bulls played in Loveland, a day after playing against the Grizzlies. Three times in the game against the Eagles, the Bulls fought back from one-goal deficits, including a late second-period goal by Simon Danis-Pepin. But for the fourth time in the game, the Eagles grabbed the lead, midway through the third period. With just 3:26 remaining in regulation, Peter Sivak flung a sharp-angled shot from the corner that found its way past Kyle Jones to force overtime. Following a scoreless extra session, the game went into a shootout. Dean Ouellet scored for the Bulls on his patented, skate out wide, deke to the forehand and roof it on the backhand move to put the Bulls up 1-0 after the second round. Thomas Heemskerk did the rest of the work, stopping all five Colorado shooters en route to a 5-4 shootout victory for the Bulls on the road.
