Hi Hockey Fans! With just 51 days to go until we drop the puck on our inaugural 2012-13 season, things are really starting to take shape at the Cow Palace. Anyone who’s been on a tour of the arena over the past couple of weeks knows that the centerpiece of the Cow Palace’s renovations is in the process of being built at what will be center ice: the new Colosseo scoreboard, also known as “The Cube.”

This scoreboard will have state-of-the-art technology with a 360-degree screen. It rivals any scoreboard you see in NHL arenas. Couple that with a new sound system, and it’s going to be a spectacular presentation.

The boards are starting to be put up, so it’s starting to look like a hockey rink. We’re also working on the locker rooms around the clock. Along with Tom Pederson, I’ve moved into my permanent home, the coach’s office. As much as I enjoyed being in the front office, it just feels right being in the coach’s office, right beside the team locker room.

Things are really starting to happen here at the Cow Palace. The concession stands are being revamped. There will be over 60 places to purchase concessions at the Cow Palace, once we get things rolling. Also, fans won’t want to miss out on the beer garden, located right by the ice. It’s going to be one of the best places to take in the game, while socializing or networking.

Outside of the Cow Palace, we had a great turnout at PIER 39 at our National Anthem Tryouts. I’m glad I didn’t have to be a judge because I would have had a hard time choosing just seven winners. All of the contestants were impressive. A huge thanks to PIER 39 and Players for hosting the event. Also, thank you to the judges, Kevin Kurz, Emily Morse, Vicki Liviakis and Dan Ashley.

Our affiliation with the Sharks is going strong, and we’re continuing the line up new talent for the start of the season, with 12 players signed and a few more to be announced over the coming weeks.

Don’t forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on twitter. And if you haven’t already taken advantage of them, we’ve got great deals with our season ticket packages and mini-plans. You can reach us in the office at 855-SF-BULLS. The season’s almost here, and we can’t wait.
