Hi Bulls Fans! What an exciting week in Bulls history. After finalizing all of the details, we officially signed our affiliation with the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday afternoon. We couldn’t be happier with making this happen. It’s what we’ve wanted from the beginning and we’re going to be here to help develop players that will hopefully contribute to a Stanley Cup Championship for the Sharks.

I wanted to fill you in on the details of a very hectic Wednesday. I drove down to San Jose with our Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting, Jason Lockhart, to see the Sharks’ Assistant GM Wayne Thomas. He was on the ice at their practice facility, Sharks Ice, about 10 minutes from HP Pavilion for their annual summer rookie camp. I had a chance to watch the guys skate. We may see them in the future wearing an SF Bulls jersey either this season or in the future. Despite being some of the youngest prospects in the Sharks system, you can hardly tell. They have the speed and skill of many seasoned veterans.

Wayne was gracious enough to step off his session early to sign the final agreement. You can probably tell from the photos on www.sfbulls.com how ecstatic I was to have those papers signed. The Sharks PR rep. Ryan was also first class. The Sharks have been great so far, and we’re less than a week into the affiliation.

After the signing, the work was just beginning. We hustled back to the office and the phones were off the hook with people buying tickets. It was then off to the media circuit, including a live interview at Channel 5 downtown, and phone interviews with KCBS, KNBR and KGO Radio. All of the coverage was excellent.

It was a long day, but an exciting one. And just to keep things rolling, I was on Lamont and Tonelli on 107.7 The Bone the next morning at 6:55 am. For anyone up that early listening, we appreciate your dedication.

We’re just three months away. Let’s keep the buzz going. More exciting news from us coming in the near future. Stay tuned.
